Bi-lingual Collaboration

27th June 2014

german school logoFollowing letters written in German to prospective correspondents in the Bisttalschule, Wadgassen,  near Saarlouis in Germany, eighteen Y10 and seven Y9 students intending to study German at GCSE next year received replies.

This marks the first point of contact with their German peers and the aim of the initiative is to collaborate on producing creative bi-lingual projects which involve the students using ICT. The results will be published on the SBS-Bisttalschule Blog: http://sbs-bisttal.blogspot.co.uk/

The first collaboration to be launched in September is   a structured bi-lingual story with illustrations by the students. The story would be structured in such a way as to create consistent characters which would run throughout comprising of four chapters, with about 200 words per chapter:

The whole story will also be audio recorded and by students on both sides (audio-book) and uploaded to this site.  Watch this space!
